10,000 Frames: Archive Files #1

Las Pampas Argentina February 2022. Studying and responding to the local and global effects of mono-crop farming in Residence.

Inspired by my friend Vivian Garcia, I'm embarking on a mission: shooting 10,000 frames to master analog photography.

Armed with my Canon AE1, so far I've captured 100 rolls of film (3600 photos) over the past 1.5 years, building a comprehensive archive of my journey. With 6400 photos to go, I invite you to go on this journey with me.

Vulnerable moment: the only people who’ve seen these have been the ones to sit at my desktop, and quite literally view from a hard drive. These inbox shares are an invitation into my home, and I always serve Mezcal.

My art focus is rooted in storytelling, centered around people and my community. From capturing macro to micro perspectives, I'm revealing these stories. I'll be taking you on a viewing journey through monthly emails, sharing the archives of my travels, experiences, and most importantly, my progress as a photographer. There may even be glimpses of client work and behind-the-scenes moments from my photoshoots. If I took it on the AE1, its in the 10,000 frames series.

If you find yourself in these photos, please enjoy them, share them, and if you'd be so kind, tag me (@brookedavanzo.jpg). Select Prints are available on my website. I hope that looking at these photographs becomes a sentimental experience, evoking a mixture of emotions, ranging from happiness and nostalgia to reflection and a sense of unity.

From me to you.
